This article aims to present an educational practice, developed for Integrated High School students of a campus of the Federal Institute, in the state of Minas Gerais. The minicourse entitled “The comma in digital genres” was carried out through the WhatsApp application and aimed to provide subsidies for the improvement of communicative competence, criticality and autonomy of students, through the study of the use of comma in digital genres. The results, following a quali-quantitative approach, showed that the practice performed seems to have contributed positively to the knowledge of the participants, when the diagnostic assessment is compared with the final assessment and also observing the participation of students throughout the minicourse.
