Abstract

ABSTRACT: The goal of this paper is to present the state of the art on the scientific and technological studies that analyze the interiorization and expansion of the Federal Institutes of Education, Science and Technology (FIs), checking out the local and regional changes where these institutions were build or where other institutions were turned into FIs. For this study, it was made a selection of theses and dissertations published in two databases, the Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD, initials in Portuguese) and the Catalogue of Theses and Dissertations from CAPES, in the period from July 25 to 30, 2022, resulting in the analysis of 21 works, being 19 dissertations and two theses. The results show that the FIs have been fulfilling their social role with the expansion of vacancies and the offer of new technical courses integrated with High School, concomitantly and subsequently.
