Abstract

The plants Plantago sp, Schinus terebinthifolius Raddi, Mikania glomerata Sprengel and Mentha sp are listed by RENISUS with interest of inserting them as therapeutic resources for the population. Thus, the objective of the present study was to carry out chemical analyzes that identify the main secondary metabolites and to evaluate the antioxidant activity of ethanolic tinctures (mother tincture) of these plants collected in different localities of Spirit Santo - Brazil. The mother tinctures were obtained in a proportion of 10% (m/v). For characterization chemical in the tinctures was used the thin layer chromatography (CCD) technique with the respective mobile phase for each substance class, where the plates were visualized in specific physical and chemical detection. The tinctures were analyzed by High Resolution Mass Spectrometry using the ionization source Eletrospray in negative mode (ESI(-) FT-ICR-MS) . Lastly, the antioxidant activity was determined by the DPPH method. The chromatographic and spectrometric analyzes showed evidence of phenolic and terpenes compounds in all dyes. Some characteristc ions [M-H]- were identified by ESI(-) as m/z 301.21741 (kaurenoic acid) for guaco, from m/z 455.35307 (ursolic acid) for tansagem andm/z 359.07724 (rosmarinic acid) for mentha. By reaction with the DPPH radical, all the plants presented antioxidant action, evidencing the dyes of guaco and tansagem presented values above 90 and 80%, respectively, close to the ascorbic acid standard. Therefore, this study evidences the presence of phenolic compounds and chemical markers in plants widely used by popular medicine, highlighting its antioxidant potential.
