Abstract

This qualitative study aimed to verify the possible influences of the curriculum of the Technical Course in Agriculture Integrated to High School of a Federal Institute of the country on the permanence of young people in the field. The justification for the research is focused on the fact that family farming is often undeserved, with the prevalence of the agribusiness approach as the central content in the technical course studied. This focus can contribute to the exodus of students from the rural area, as well as the demotivation to use the knowledge acquired in the course to modify their surroundings in the field. From the data obtained, proposals were made to assist in the change of this reality from curricular changes in order to contribute to professional and technological education to help change the reality of the communities of the field in which those subjects are inserted.
