TEACHING SOCIOLOGY AND PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION:
A STUDY ON THE CONCEPT OF WORK AND ITS IMPLICATIONS ON LIFE IN SOCIETY

This article has as its object the teaching of Sociology in the Business
Administration course in an educational institution linked to the Department of Education of
the State of Rio de Janeiro. We sought to understand what’s understanding that integrated
high school students have about the concept of Work and its implications for life in society,
aiming to contribute with teaching that enables a critical education that meets the perspective
of Integral Education. It was possible to understand the importance of aligning theory and
practice so that students could realize the applicability sociology in your life, with their
capacities being observed, including in relation to the role they in society. The methodologies
used were: document analysis, focus group and content analysis.
