The objective of this article was to identify the risks of the functions performed by employees in a diamond mining and suggest improvements in relation to the Health and Safety of employees. The methodology consisted of anticipating, identifying and classifying risk factors and suggesting control measures. All the functions performed presented some type of risk (physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic and accidents) inherent to their activity and, consequently, control measures were suggested for each of the risks. The administrative staff presented only ergonomic risks (poor posture, repetitive work and excessive noise). The other analyzed functions presented more risks, similar and classified as physical (noise, heat and vibrations), chemical (particulate material), biological (viruses, fungi and bacteria), ergonomic (bad posture, repetitive work and excessive noise) and accidents. (inappropriate personal protective equipment, unprotected machines, people falling, electric shocks, equipment tipping and slipping). Risk analysis and suggestions for control measures will be essential in the construction of the Risk Management Program and will contribute to improving the health and safety aspects of the company's employees.
