This work, part of an ongoing doctorate, aims to reflect on the issue of educational training processes for youth in Brazil from the analytical categories capital-work-education. In particular, it questions the limits imposed on the formation of young people through the Action “New Paths”, dedicated to Professional and Technological Education. Based on Marxist dialectics, we seek to understand how the phenomenon of the expansion of enrollments in vocational education at the secondary level, as well as technical and professional courses offered to young people, conforms to the consequences of the secondary education reform (Law No. 13.415/17), example, the “training itineraries” in the schooling of Brazilian high school students.
