This work aims to promote reflection on the need for interconnection between current content related to light in the disciplines of Physics and Chemistry and to offer an alternative for their correlation through the transposition of interdisciplinary approaches, in an experimental, contextualized and transdisciplinary way. To this end, a historical retrospective was carried out covering the main discoveries about the nature of light, in addition to the description and explanation of the main concepts related to photometry and fluorimetry, in a multidisciplinary way. For the experimental approach, a low cost equipment was built for photometric and fluorimetric analysis, as well as its application in determining the content of quinine in tonic water and sodium diclofenac in medicines. The objective was to minimize the gap in the teaching and learning process, aiming to provide students with the possibility to understand how the theoretical concepts about the Bohr model in Chemistry and waves, in Physics, are closely related to technologies present in their daily lives and to the manner in which quantitative and qualitative analyzes are fundamentally important nowadays. The proposed equipment has its construction described in detail and the tests performed showed results corresponding to 98% of the comparison method in the determination of quinine in tonic water and recovery above 95% in the addition and recovery test for the determination of diclofenac in medicines, the which indicates viability for its reproduction in teaching.
