Abstract

This article presents reflections from qualitative research on the functionality of homework in the teaching-learning process. Conducted from the analysis of interviews and questionnaires applied to teachers and guardians of children in groups 5, which reveal the opinion, feelings and reality of respondents about these duties. Its main objective is to understand how homework influences the actions that guide children's learning regarding the necessary skills to be developed at the school age of group 5 (4 years and 9 months to 5 years and 9 months), according to the Viana Municipal Curriculum and the National Common Curriculum Base - BNCC. It also questions the need and effectiveness of this resource, and discusses issues around its forms of application, and adequacy to the current reality. It reveals how much homework is still highly valued as part of the learning processes, however, little questioned. It also reveals how diligent parents are with this value, even though they are affected by the limitations of their realities.
