In the Federal Network of Professional, Scientific and Technological Education (RFEPCT), technical education at the high school level, particularly in the integrated modality, involves the cultural, scientific, and technical development of young individuals. This requires full-time engagement in classroom activities, laboratories, workshops, as well as additional studies outside of regular school hours. This demanding process necessitates dedication, time, and individual energy, making mental health a crucial aspect of students' educational journey. Mental health issues can negatively impact attention, motivation, and socialization, all of which are essential for effective learning. This research is motivated by the frequent occurrence of complaints and symptoms of mental illness among students in the health section of an RFEPCT institution. Through theoretical and bibliographical research, this article seeks to explore and connect various concepts that help in understanding the intersection of contemporary lifestyle, youth, and mental health. Furthermore, to make this conceptual framework more relevant to high school Technical Professional Education (EPTNM), the article also discusses the concepts of mental health prevention and promotion, as well as information related to depression, anxiety, and stress. It is important to note that this article takes a conceptual approach and does not present empirical results or draw specific conclusions. Instead, its purpose is to highlight the significance of student mental health in a full-time school setting and to outline key concepts that contribute to a better understanding of this issue.
