For this, the CAPES platform was used to search for these articles, using the keywords: viruses, water treatment and waterborne diseases. The articles researched were from 2010 to 2020 and the topics animal, bacteria, sewage and sewage treatment were excluded. Thus, 12 articles were obtained; 75% presented some technique for treating virus removal in water. The most efficient was the conventional pre-treatment followed by ultrafiltration membranes and the least efficient was the use of granular activated carbon filter.
