Lagoa do Macuco na Reserva Biologica de Soretama - ES

The Barra Seca River, together with the Cupid River located on the south face of the Soretama Biological Reserve, form the Macuco Lagoon, an ecosystem of rare beauty inside the unit. There are few flooded environments left. The region's biological diversity has become extinct, with some of these species remaining in Lagoa do Macuco conditions for survival and breeding, including birds, alligators, and otters, and native fish. The lagoon has a significant characteristic in terms of vegetation, with its margins covered by graminoid and shrubby vegetation that form floating islands that move by the wind through the lagoon's interior.
